Comtec Racing Ltd (Team United Kingdom) started life as the hugely successful works Van Diemen Team in Formula Ford. However when Van Diemen finally chose to close down their works race team, Comtec Racing was launched as an independent team by the legendary Jonathan Lewis and Pierre Moncheur.
Based in Norfolk the team takes pride in it's knowledge and experience; every member of staff plays a vital role in the strength of the team, working at the pinnacle of their field to achieve Comtec Racing's one goal: winning. Playing a key part in aiding the team to achieve this aim is ex-Lotus F1 driver Martin Donnelly, who has joined the team as Driver Developement Manager.
Comtec Racing's Head Quarters boasts one of the most comprehensive motorsport facilities within the UK, including a Formula One spec workshop, a state of the art hospitality tour bus and a dedicated test team. Comtec Racing has also recently head-hunted and recruited ex F1 Engineer Paul Heath to be their engineering director, and add another dimension of strength and depth to the engineering team.
In 2006 Comtec Racing took on their biggest challenge yet, competing in the World Series By Renault, while also still remaining in the Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup and returning to the British Formula Renault Championship after an absence of one year. Comtec went on to win the Drivers Championship at there first attempt and have been very fast in all the end of season tests of 2006. We are the team to be with for the 2007 championship and we hope to retain the Drivers Championship and add the Teams Championship to our name.
